May Edition // Offline is the New Luxury

Hey Reader

It's Carolynne – and I'm sliding into your inbox on a Friday because something good is happening and I wanted you to hear it from me first.

πŸ’ What I'm thinking about

The difference between ease and lazy. And there IS a difference.

As a recovering hustle Queen, I spent years working my face off to offset what I'd privately labelled my "lazy tendencies"... as if busyness was the only acceptable proof that I was serious about business.

But here's what I've figured out: I was never looking to be lazy. I was wanting the feeling of ease. And those are not the same thing.

β†’ Lazy is avoidance. Lazy is the sofa when there's something important to do. Hello, Netflix!

Ease is something else entirely. Ease is saying yes to simplicity. It's being guided. It's trusting that someone else has already done the thinking so you don't have to start from scratch.

What comes easy isn't lazy... it's what's meant for you. I know, sounds like spiritual fluff. Sorry, not sorry.

Ease isn't the absence of effort. It's the refusal to make everything harder than it needs to be.

πŸ€” What I'm working on

I've been upgrading something.

You might know it as The Quiet Marketing Method. I took the epic feedback from the people who'd been through it, tore it apart in the best possible way, and rebuilt it into something that does one thing really well.

Makes Monday morning easy.

And here's the part I love β€” it launches on a *bank holiday Monday. On purpose.

Because when I created this, the feeling I was chasing wasn't "more content" or "better strategy." It was clarity and ease (there's that word again!). Marketing that works for me instead of feeding an ever-hungry marketing beast that demands to be fed every single day forever and ever, amen.

One of my students put it better than I could:

"It gave me a calmer and much clearer way to think about my business."

That. Exactly that.

So here's the question I want to leave you with before Monday:

If offline really is the new luxury β€” what would that mean for you? HIT REPLY and tell me 🀍

Calm Mondays? An impromptu walk with friends on a Wednesday morning? Staying up late with people you love in the summer without half your brain already composing tomorrow's caption?

Because that's what this is built for.

The waitlist is open now.

* A brief history of the bank holiday, since you asked: In 1871, a Victorian banker called Sir John Lubbock... who also tried to teach his poodle to read, genuinely... decided banks should have official days off. The name stuck. 155 years later, I'm using his day off to remind you that you never have to hustle again. Sir John and his poodle would approve.

πŸ“™ Last month on The Business of Luxury

This month I ran a series I've been building toward for a while.

It started with data. WGSN called it. The HNWI research confirmed it. And honestly? You've probably been feeling it for years.

Logging off is the new luxury logo β€” the shift your high-status buyers already made, and what it means for where you show up.

The Private Villa Effect β€” where the wealthiest buyers actually went, and what that tells you about your ideal client right now.

Your buyers left social media. Did your marketing? β€” the question nobody wants to sit with. Until they do.

Part four drops Monday. Alongside something rather good πŸ˜‰

If you've read the first three, you'll already know what's coming. The series is free to read. Go catch up... and come back Monday morning.

πŸ‘‹πŸΌ Worth your attention

πŸŽ‰ The Business of Luxury hit 21,000 subscribers. And it was NOT expected!

3,000 new readers in 30 days and sales made at 30,000ft on the way to Portugal. No social media.

Just the work, the ideas, and apparently a lot of people who are tired of being told that visibility is the same as credibility.

To say thank you β€” 21% off annual Substack subscriptions, locked in for life.

Every framework. Every dispatch. Every deep-dive. At a rate that never goes up.

Annual subscribers get 21% off, locked in forever. The universe said you have excellent taste.

This one closes Sunday night, London time. So if you want to polish up your luxury brand before Monday morning's announcement, you know what to do 🀍
