What Hermès did differently...

April '25 Roundup

Yeah, I know it's May 💁🏼‍♀️ It's been emosh!

If you're new around here, hello! You're subscribed to The Business of Luxury and you probably found me via Substack or Pinterest.

This is my monthly roundup of what's been going on BTS of my brand.

You don’t need more marketing.

You need a new way of thinking and building your brand.

Hermès just became the most valuable luxury brand on the planet... but not with loud marketing, IG influencer takeovers or riding the coattails of a trend.
Instead... Hermès Marketing = Slow build. Legacy moves.

The opposite of the frantic hustle, where people are still scrambling to post five times a day and calling it a "strategy".

Lemme guess, you were taught by the Industrial Marketing Complex, the 24-year-old hustle bros with endless energy and the marketers who graduated with their MBA in the '80s.

But the rules changed in 2021 and you didn't get the memo.

❌ More is better?

Lolz! Not anymore.

More, more, MORE... but is any of it actually moving the needle?

Be honest.
If you're tracking your metrics, you know this in black and white. But let's also do a gut check.

Are you doing more but attracting less?

(Oh, I'm not sugar-coating anything today!)

A better question would be...

If you only had two hours a day to work, what would you do?

This forces you to trim the fat. Ozempic for your marketing, but without the weird side effects 🫠

Here’s my 2-hour daily work binge:

💸 Daily money-making tasks – making bank always comes first.

📝 Substack notes + comments – chatting to the Substack crew is my daily brunch meeting and pep talk.

🖊️ Draft, edit, and finish one post per week – I split this over a few sessions because I like to write, edit, then post.

📌 Pin one thing daily – Driving traffic to my website and building my ecosystem. Batched and scheduled once a week, obviously!

📊 Check my metrics – See what's working (and what isn't). Once a week is enough.

🔧 Tweak the ecosystem – Optimisation to increase resonance.

The rest of the time... I'm Telegramming clients, auditing and building their brands, and creating my own products. Aka, doing the things I LOVE.

That’s it. Simple, powerful, and 80% less chaotic.

Radical simplicity means trusting that what you’re doing is enough, your message is strong AF so it’s magnetising the right people—and letting the rest go.

Because you don’t need more work. You need one sharp change in perspective—and a system that works for you... (not against you and makes you break out in hives).

Am I right?

I don't want to be but something resonated with you over on Substack.

This *waves hand around* was something that hit HARD. The metrics say it all and the comments, ugh... right in the feelz. My DMs blew up and I knew this was something you were looking for.

BUT I need your help. Help me to help you, as they say.

Have you filled in the form?
